In the world connected through network today, Facebook Live video has made amazing advancements. This feature is now available to Indian users of iOS and Android OS. Facebook, Chief Executive Officer Mark Zuckerberg, made an announcement at the VidCon conference held in June 2016 about a new feature of Facebook that went live for the users in the United States. The new feature provides two-person live broadcasting.
This fantastic feature will be made available to the users of iOS devices, in the United States, who have got the ‘Facebook Mentions’ iOS app alongside a verified page. For this feature to work, both of the users concerned need to have verified pages or accounts.
As far as the non-verified users in the US are concerned, this feature will be made available to them by September while it will be reaching to brands across the globe in October or November.
In this regard, according to The Next Web, a representative from Facebook said, “We are now starting to roll out this new capability, starting with a small number of public figures and Pages. In the coming months, we will continue to make this more broadly available to people, public figures, and Pages using Facebook Live. We believe this will make broadcasts more fun and interactive and open up new possibilities for Live.”
There were two other Facebook features also announced. One of them is ‘MSQRD integration’– by using which, during a Facebook Live session, a user can add on live mask filters on their faces. The second one is scheduling of live broadcasts, which enables the user to pre-announce the live sessions in Facebook. The notification thus made is sent to the user’s friends. Once the friends click the notification and navigate to the user’s page, they move into a kind of waiting room if the user has not already gone live. Moreover, this feature is of use for those users who don’t like to have a large number of the audience before they themselves go live.
