A Chinese Telecommunications equipment company, Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd., is reported to release its new smartphone Huawei Mate S2 in the month of September.
TENAA, a telecommunications equipment certification center in China, has leaked a lot of highly anticipated phones and this upcoming device was also first sighted by it. On phoneradar.com, a photo of the new phone was uploaded recently. Last year, Huawei launched the Mate S and the upcoming phone is its successor.
Huawei’s branding is shown on the front bottom of the phone. Unlike, most of other smartphones, it is interesting to see that there is no physical button on its front side. As far as its rear side is concerned, it looks much similar in design to the Nexus 6P that was released the year 2015.
The Nexus 5X, manufactured by LG, and the Nexus 6P, manufactured by Huawei were the two Nexus smartphones launched by Google in the previous year. According to the leaked photo, Huawei might be reusing the design of the Nexus 6P for its upcoming smartphone.
However, as the Nexus 6P was released last year and the Mate S2 is to be released now, the features of the two phones would vary a lot. Like its predecessor, the Mate S2 will feature a pressure sensitive display. The new phone will be having a full HD display of 1080p and a screen of 5.5 inches. The Mate S2 will have a stereo speaker fixed at its bottom edge unlike the Nexus 6P that features dual front-facing speakers.
Moreover, the upcoming Huawei product will me much better in performance that the Nexus 6P as it is expected to feature a fast CPU of 2.6GHz Octa-core Kirin 960 and a RAM of 4GB. It will be having a 3,500 mAh battery. The front camera is believed to be 8MP while the rear camera is 16MP.
The Mate S2 will be running Android 6.0 (code named Marshmallow) and will be using EMUI user interface.
The new phone is expected to be launched officially on 1st of September and according to Android Headlines, it will appear for the first time during Huawei’s IFA (Internationale Funkausstellung) conference in Berlin, Germany on 2nd of September.
