Microsoft has been continuously working on its latest Operating System. Today, Microsoft released its Windows 10 Redstone 2 Build 14905 to its users of Windows Insider Program and this release contains some more tweaks and fixes.
The company fixed two critical bugs in this RS 2 Build, although some users may not appreciate these tweaks much.
As far as the first fix is concerned, according to Microsoft it “fixed an issue causing a large blank space to appear between the address bar and web content after the address bar moves back to the top when opening a new tab in Microsoft Edge,” therefore, this fix would be greatly valued by the users who are using the new Windows 10 browser. Meanwhile, it also fixes the bug that forces the Sketchpad and Screen Sketch to crash when one tries to change the ink color twice in a row whilst the ruler is visible on the screen.
Secondly, when a user tries to change the ink color twice in a row whilst the ruler is visible on the screen the Sketchpad and Screen Sketch crashes. This fix also resolves this issue.
We won’t be seeing any new nice features in this update, however, the ‘CTRL + O’ keyboard shortcut is added to the MS Edge browser that can be used to move the focus to the address bar of the browser. Moreover, this RS 2 Build also adds the feature of table navigation to the Narrator Scan mode and thus it can support some new keyboard shortcuts. For navigating to the beginning of the table the shortcut to be used is ‘CTRL + ALT + HOME’ and that for going to the end is ‘CTRL + ALT + END’.
Some issues still known to PCs even after this build
There are a few issues in PCs that are not completely resolved even in the 14905 build and these need to be cited here. When one clicks on the power button the Windows Start Menu crashes. To resolve this problem and access the power controls in this case, Microsoft has advised to right-click the Start Menu or use the ‘Win + X’ shortcut.
Moreover, Cortana’s text-to-speech features are also not available in this RS2 build. The ‘System Settings App’ also stops working at times. However, the company has claimed that the Windows Team is trying to hopefully fix all these issues in the coming builds/updates.
